The Lord Is My Shepherd

The most crucial point for us to welcome the Lord’s second coming in the last days is to listen to the voice of God and recognize God from His voice. The Revelation prophesies: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20). When some people testify that the Lord has returned, how should we recognize the voice of God? Here we’d like to share with you a simple and easy method.

When we read the words of the Lord Jesus, we all have such a feeling: Though we have no experience and knowledge of the Lord’s words, the moment we hear them we feel they are the truth, that they have power and authority. That is the effect of inspiration and intuition. For instance, the Lord Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by Me” (John 14:6). “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35). When we hear these words, we can feel that God’s words have authority and power and contain mysteries and are very profound; nobody is capable of speaking such words and they are God’s voice. It proves that anyone who has a heart and a spirit can recognize God’s voice.

When we hear man’s words, we can understand it immediately and feel no authority and power in man’s words. Just like these words spoken by the apostles in the Bible, although most of them come from the enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit, they are merely the right words and beneficial to man. We can feel that it is not the truth and the apostles are neither able to speak the words spoken by the Lord Jesus. By comparison, we can discern whether it is the voice of God.
