Revelation 16:15 — Watching and Waiting
Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
– Revelation 16:15
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
This verse reminds us the Lord will come secretly as a thief. In fact, there are also other Bible verses saying, “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet him” (Matthew 25:6). “Then said Jesus to them again, Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep” (John 10:7). “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20). These verses clearly tell us that someone will bear witness to the second coming of Jesus Christ. And if anyone hears the voice of the bridegroom, he should open the door and sup with the Lord. From this we can see that the Lord will come in secret. If we don’t be awake or prepared, we certainly can’t recognize the Lord and follow Him when He comes in secret.
